My Bio

Rucha Muley Jambhekar is a Hindustani classical vocalist, curator, composer, and educator based in New Jersey. Originally from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, she began learning music at the age of seven. Her powerful voice spans three octaves, shaped by training in the Gwalior, Kirana, and Agra-Jaipur traditions under Shri Parulekar, Shri Appa Indurkar, and Vidushi Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar.

As Founder and Artistic Director of SvarNaad School of Music, Rucha nurtures the next generation of vocalists through classical training, thoughtful riyaaz, and meaningful performance experiences. Her student productions include Naad Brahma and Raga Fusion. Rooh Se Rubaru is a new concept in development, exploring the hidden corners of the mind.

Rucha received the top prize at Soor Sangam Sansthan, Jaipur, in 1993 at the age of ten. She won the BMM Swarangan Competition in 2011 and was among the top 20 contestants in Zee Sa Re Ga Ma in 2012. She has performed at musical conferences in India and abroad, with a repertoire spanning Hindustani classical, semi-classical, Marathi bhavgeet, and Bollywood music.

Her performance and recording credits include Ghana Vadan, composed by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni; the lead singing role in the off-Broadway production Music in My Blood; and an original Marathi bhavgeet EP recorded in New Jersey. She has also written and composed original songs.

Her curated concert productions include Savitrichya Leki, co-curated with Neha Okhade; Sakhi – Stree Svarancha Utsav, conceived and performed with Sheetal Patwardhan Bapat; and The Raga Soirée, an intimate Hindustani classical and semi-classical baithak.

​Rucha holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. She chose to devote herself fully to music, bringing disciplined study and a lifelong commitment to learning into her work as a performer and teacher.
